TanDEM-X (TerraSAR-X add-on for Digital Elevation Measurement) was successfully launched on 21st June from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. LSE personnel play significant roles in both missions.
LSE's Multimission Flight Support Team supported TanDEM-X operations during the LEOP and commissioning phase and continues to provide 24/7 monitoring and control of the satellites during routine operations.
The LSE team which prepared and now operates the TerraSAR-X and the TanDEM-X Mission Planning Systems also assists internal and external users and supervises the Timeline Generation System.
In the months before the launch, LSE's Ground Data System Team tested and configured the communication links with the relevant ground stations.
