Balloon-borne EXperiments for University Students

The BEXUS program is a joint project between SSC, Esrange Space Center, and the Mobile Rocket Base (Moraba) of DLR, conducted by EuroLaunch.

The BEXUS programme allows students from universities and higher education colleges across Europe to carry out scientific and technological experiments on stratospheric research balloons. Each year, two balloons are launched from Esrange Space Center, carrying up to 20 experiments designed and built by student teams.

BEXUS 13 was launched on September 28, 2011 at 15:21 UTC. The balloon reached an altitude of approximately 24 km and the cut down command was given at 18:50. The balloon landed at 19:20 UTC in northern Finland.
