The Uruguayan Air Force (FUERZA AÉREA URUGUAYA) has purchased two CASA 212 aircraft from the Swedish Coast Guard (SCG), complete with maritime surveillance equipment developed by the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC).
In connection with the deployment of the aircraft SSC has been involved in training system operators, pilots and maintenance staff on the mission equipment. SSC has provided instructors from its own Airborne Systems Division. In addition to this instructors from SCG and SAAB have been engaged in order to provide a comprehensive and technically adequate training covering not only the SSC equipment but also other on-board systems that constitutes the total mission package.
